It's not a fault, it's a requirement placed by the DVDForum. MS are still bound to all the rules placed on retail DVD Players. Notice how upscaling DVD Players never do it through Component without a software hack?

Exactly.

The DVD playback is good for me, no problems whatsoever - no pixellation.

But you are playing it in composite on a standard CRT are you not, its not going to be as noticable. I don't think the image problems are a matter of opinion, its pretty obvious it's a fact that the 360 is crap at dvds
