Ok, perhaps it wasn't the greatest example, but you've got to take what you get.

Red Steel scored 90% from Ngamer today and 84% for Super Monkey Ball

Red Steel

“This is an important title. So many launch titles falsely claim to be ‘pick up and play’. Newcomers can pick up and ‘do’, certainly, but this offers a proper playing experience. If you want to see what your Wii can really do, Red Steel is a slice above the rest.”

“Not only making excellent use of the Wii’s controllers, this is huge fun in its own right. For a launch title to get so much right is an indicator of great things to come.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz

“A proper return to form for the monkeys and a party game showcase that deserves to be on everyone’s Wii launch shopping list. Impressively solid, hugely entertaining.”

“And that’s what it’s all about. Banana Blitz delivers a riotous amount of fun and proves Wii really is something special.”

There is an article posted on cvm, concerning the virtual console
link

small summary
-games are drm signed to specific machine
-purchased VC games can be re-downloaded free again
-GC controller can be used for VC games
-Wii classic controller cannot be used for GC games
edit
-VC games are region specific (nothing new)

There is some mentioning of history log of the download VC-games,
the article states that it is logged on the machine locally.
Appearently with the help of the log you can redownload your deleted VC-games.
Not sure if it is an good idea or maybe the NOE guy doesn't know what he is talking about.
I hope it is not true and that purchased games are somehow
log on an nintendo (server) account, in case ones machine breaks.

Will you be able to buy VC Points via the internet through Wii using a credit card, like you can with Xbox 360's Marketplace?

Nintendo:
Yes. Wii points can also be bought online via the Wii Shop using all major credit cards and will be credited to your account. A total of 10,000 points can be stored on your Wii account at any one time.
I win

Finally managed to have a play on a Wii today at the local shopping centre here, which just happened to be the first stop on the Australian Wii tour

Had a quick 2 player go on Wii Play, playing the Duck Hunt and Air Hockey games, but it was good fun. The controller didn't feel very precise, but after a little while I got used to it. Then had a play on Wario Ware, which was great fun as usual, it was almost as much fun watching other people play it too!

Just hope I get one for launch

EDIT: They also had Wii Sports, Zelda and Excite Truck there, Zelda was visually less impressive than the others, as all the Wii specific games looked much smoother around the edges, but the people playing it looked like they were having fun, personally though, I've got no interest in Zelda. Only had a brief look at Excite Truck, but it didn't inspire me to queue up to play it.

is the wario game going to be one of the release games does anyone know ?

i have been a nintendo fan since the nes days and although they let me down somewhat with the lack of n64 support i think the Wii will bring them back into the contendership with MS, I think Sony have buggered themselves up with the delays and expensive price the PS3 is claimed to be

Excite Truck Feb 07 date is for Europe. US will get it on the launch. WarioWare will be released in January on both continents.
