Capcom working on new Strider game?

I've not read the issue in question but a DMC-style Strider sounds pretty cool if you ask me. I'm a bit surprised that Capcom is considering bringing the series back after the commercial failure of the second game, but with Bionic Commando Rearmed and Mega Man 9 leading the charge, maybe the company is going to release more titles from its golden era?

The story's nonsense. The guy who wrote that feature was at dinner with Capcom with myself and another journalist (about 2 months ago). The Capcom PR guy asked which classic franchise we'd like to see come back and we'll all said "Strider" at the same time. It was James Mielke himself, and not the Capcom guy, that suggested it be DMC style.

That doesn't mean it'll never happen of course, but it's fair to point out that their "news" is based on drunken hypothesizing between three journalists and a PR.

Now that is how to debunk a story in style.

I would be happy with a 2D/pseudo 2D Strider for whatever console, PSP or summat - Strider 2 on PS1 is one of my all time favouritest games. Damien when you say a DMC style Strider would be aiiight I hope you spared a thought for the DMC Castlevania games, biyotch.

Strider 2 on the ps1 is classy. Nowadays they wouldn't be able to release a game like that again without sticking some typical generic storyline over it, complete with backtracking and a broken camera. Shinobi, i see you... Which i liked when it worked.

If they want to bring it back properly, they are going to have to release it as a downloadable game and with Capcoms recent track record, i can see that happening.

I liked those DMC Castlevania games Seany.

All they need to do is get Grin on it and use me as a consultant. Job Done.
