As discussed in the AC6 thread:
This is bloody brill! The demo is about 10 minutes long but I'm sure I'll be playing it more than once. First let me tell you how to change view because it starts in 3rd person veiw (you know what I mean), to change view press the right analog in. First person should be the default view but it's not.
The first thing I picked up on is the sound quality that has really meaty sound FX, they even added distortion to the sound of a plane flying through close by! The graphics are awesome and when high up they look photo realistic, the textures could be a bit better on the ground but bear in mind it's because you go so high that they can't over do it because it's a lot to render, but you still get 3D buildings. It runs at 30FPS but it doesn't bother me too much as it's not a fast paced racing game.
The gameplay is pretty much the same as always, and I know graphics don't make a game, but that is what this game update is all about, well that and Xbox Live (which isn't in this demo). :)

Tell us about smoke.
Are there vapour trails from Planes?
Are there vapour trails from rockets?
Are there clouds in the demo?
Is the demo 10 minutes time limited?
What does the graphics do when flying super high to stall altitude? (Do you get a wonderful dark blue effect as you get to the ultra high level?)
Does the right stick control "Free look" and the left stick control the plane?
What plane do you have in the demo?
Thanks!

Tell us about smoke.
Smoke looks like smoke and evaporates etc as you would expect
Are there vapour trails from Planes?
Yes
Are there vapour trails from rockets?
Yes
Are there clouds in the demo?
Yes
Is the demo 10 minutes time limited?
No
What does the graphics do when flying super high to stall altitude? (Do you get a wonderful dark blue effect as you get to the ultra high level?)
Dunno don't you want there to be anything left to find out yourself when you get a shot ?
Does the right stick control "Free look" and the left stick control the plane?
Yes obviously you've played AC before
What plane do you have in the demo?
The PacMan NeoSonic MKIII
Thanks!
Never played an AC before but I'm no newcomer to these types of game - It's quite the looker as you'd expect from NAMCO.
As Selix mentioned audio hits first - As the splash screens at the start are accompanied by the sound of jets - Nicely done :)
There's a lot of radio chat and it really helps with immersion - I didn't check the views (didn't know about them) but did find the replay function which looks very nice though I could only find a few views (D-PAD) and the replay didn't seem that long - But I did get me fighter under that bridge at an INSANE speed with afterburner roaring before pulling back, soaring, cutting throttle and allowing the plane to do an inverted stall - ace :)
Sold to me - but I kind of knew it would be anyway - Multiple target lock & fire is SO Afterburner it made me very happy :)
Xbox live is going to rock - looks like it might be both online VS and CO-OP - 4 of you flying formation doing SP missions would be too cool.

Really looking forwards to this one on Live too. Do you have any sources for coop related info?

Although I never bought the full game, I hammered the demo of AC1 that I got with the official Playstation Magazine. Did the mission properly at first but by the end, my main concern was flying along the bridge under the support struts!
Any possibility for ridiculous stunt flying on this demo?!

Sorry I didn't get chance to answer Capcom, thanks for clearing that up Yoshi. What I wish you could do in the demo is control the take off, but instead it's a cut scene.
I'd love it if you could take off and land in every level.

This is my first taste of AC so wasn't entirely sure how it would play. As mentioned already in the thread - the sound! Really effective, particularly with such defined graphics.
Unfortunately my taste in the genre is more Wings or Tie Fighter than jet fighters, so I didn't particularly enjoy it. I was so tired after the conferences yeterday that I wasn't really with it mind! Will give it another try tomorrow.
I like how you can activate the missile-cam by holding down the button. Caused me to crash though :(

Great stuff this, need to get my skills down as I crashed into bad graphics a bit too much, but love the way you make quick glances all around you and the replay is a nice touch.
Will see you fools online, chocks away PIPPIP!!!

I got pretty lost in the demo, didn't really know what I was supposed to be doing. My missiles just seemed to miss the target boxes, but I could kill things with the cannons.
Lovely graphics though, really beautiful. First flight sim I've played since F-18 Interceptor on the Amiga!

I was doing incredibly well until I got a bit overexcited with the glancing around while blowing up a helicopter. This should help get rid of the bitter taste that was Over G.
Ace Combat is now clearly on my radar so watch your six old bean!
Awesome demo so far, got taken out just after the cut scene. Need another go... :)
Super high quality graphics and sound, same excellent gameplay from before. Can't wait for the full game.

six? isn't he referring to a bogey on your tail. unless you mean something totally different.
Fantastic demo, its good to see that they have kept the quality and presentation up. The music, sound effects and models are breathtaking.

Swallow, imagine a clock face and you are always pointed at 12 - on your 6 thus refers to directly behind you. :)
