It's none too bad.
Nothing amazing to look at but it's the minions that are the complete stars of the show - they made me chuckle a few times.
Really feels like it needs to let you have control over the camera though, it's way too restrictive in parts. Can't really see why they couldn't have used the d-pad from the Minion sweeping (crappyness aside).
I won't be rushing to pick it up but if there's a lull and it's cheap enough I'd quite happily play some more.

Snatched a glance - reminded me of dungeon keeper (a lot).

Awesome that my other half is pregnant and going to bed really early lately. Mo' gaming time for me! :thumb:

Enjoyed the demo quite a bit, certainly felt simple and easy to get into yet refreshing.
Agree with Spatials comments about the camera, though after while you probably will adjust to it, I always found myself instictively trying to use the right thumb as most games do for the camera.

Better than expect I thought. It has a bit of a low rent Fable knock off feel to it, but it's also quite fun and quite different to the usual military FPS the 360 is stuck with.

I don`t think I`ll be getting this game due to the flood of quality games that are coming our way over the next few months but it looked a lot of fun though, the minions were funny running round with pumpkins on their heads and that.
Reminded me of Pikmin.

Enjoyed the short demo, more of a tutorial really.
Camera only has two views, near and far. I reckon far was the better of them.
Pikmin elements are easy to spot, such as the need for x amount of minions required to move an obstacle.
Graphical style looks just like Fable.
Looks like it could be a lot of fun as you progress and get meaner minions and better weapons, armour and spells for the Overlord.
Nembot. How did you get the minions to wear the pumkins? My lot just stomped them all.

I sent my minions into the farmers field, they smashed the pumpkins up and when they came back they were wearing them on their heads!

While that may seem good now, i'm sure it'll balance out when the little one arrives :)
Congrats btw

Just had a play through of the demo. The camera was a bit awkward. Had to keep the LB held down most of the time to make it work more how I wanted. Quite enjoyed it though. I'd possibly pick up the full game if I found it for a bargain price.

I really enjoyed it, i love the quirky humour and its nice to play a 3rd person/RTS hybrid that really works, willd definately be picking this up at the end of next month.

really great humour in this game, not forced, the actual game is fun too a little annoying with the controls and could see it getting frustrating but we will have to wait & see :) enjoyed this a lot

£31 from shopto sounds like a bargain to me

Really enjoyed this. But the camera is a bit awkward, I prefer to hold the LB and move the stick to direct my minions and instead have the right stick purely for camera control. Aside from that I will definitely be picking this up at launch :D

Off-topic, but if it's his first he can't even IMAGINE how it'll be after ;)

It is our first (and thank you :)). Judging by the amount of time a mate who's recently had twins gets to play on his 360, I'll be lucky if I get 30 minutes a week of game time! :)
Anyway, Overlord. Played it quickly early and thought it was pretty good. Too many good games coming out at the moment though!

Actually to be fair I have 2 children (2 and a bit year old boy and a 9 week old boy) and I get a fair bit of gaming time, it really depends on your missus I suppose ;)
Anyway, I won't derail the thread anymore but good luck! ;)

I enjoyed the demo it must be said, suitably evil and bags of 'charm'.
The controls were ok though as mentioned the camera is a bit of a pain. I didn't like how detached all the attacks felt either - the melee attack from the Overlord was so rubbish I just used the minions all the way through...maybe that's the point!
I'll wait for reviews, but the demo was decent enough.

I think that might be the point, at least at first. I attacked a group of halflings while I sent my minions to turn a wheel and I died pretty easily. Embarrasing for an overlord, that. It's an evil pikmin though, I love it

really enjoyed the demo.Visuals are lush, and it had me laughing a few times.
Glad i got a chance to play the demo,as this probally would of gone straight past my radar.
i just played this thru, its really rather good.
can see the controls getting a bit fiddly though as the complecity and type of minions increase, plus the camera seems a bit cruddy too.
sort of thing i wouldn't even have read a review on (or bought a mag for a demo disc), these free downloads really work !

It's quite charming isn't it? (In an evil kind of way, natch). I'm getting a bit of a Stranger's Wrath vibe from it, which is high praise, obviously. Probably pick it up once it's a wee bit cheaper, unless I can find it for £30 or therabouts...

Thought the demo was fantastic, bit miffed at the scores the game has been receiving, but based on the strength of the demo I reckon I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
a decent review up on ign, they seem to like it.

IGN review was a bit meh, once again IGN diss the bad points, of which there looks like a lot, and then give the game praise at the end.
'A little bit linear' ???
Inclusion of a Live Co-op mode sounds good.
Comparisons with Pikmin are stacking up again with the revelation that there is a lot of backtracking and certain 'job's only achievable with the correct type of minion. Nonethelass I'll be buying this one, cant resist those cheeky minions.

Downloaded it earlier today and had a quick go. Agree with the concerns raised regarding not being able to control the camera but it's a lovely looking game with brilliant voice acting, some nice humour, and it has that thing seldom found in most 360 games, charm.
Definately be picking it up second-hand.
