right, lets start a proper thread for this (seeing as demos seem worthy)

this is really nice, one go convinced me to hand over the 800pts and after a few more my initial feel is this is far more of a Jetpac style update than a lot of the tat we've had to endure recently on XBLA.

can really see myself being drawn into the hi-score fests and leaderboards on the 5min & 10min modes.

all nice and HD too with proper widescreen mazes.

so far so good, will post more feedback when I'm pee'd off with England and have binned the match.

Very suprised by this, not enough to part with 800 points for it (would have been a definite purchase at 400) but its so much better than i thought it would be given I don't like normal pacman. The changes to the gameplay seem well thought through.

Wow! I take back my initial 'oh no not another Pac-Man' thoughts. They've really taken the concept forward. It's not just the whizzy graphics, it's the way only part of the board fills up with dots at a time, then fuit appears, the more dots in a different area. It's hard to explain, but it really makes it a different games where you think on the fly. The speed also increases greatly as the time increases, which leads to really intense gameplay after a while.

To compensate for the speed and having to think on the move, there are more power pills, which means much more noshing of the ghosts. They are really well placed to, which means lods of just getting a Power Pill before a ghost gets you.

I'm quite impressed.

I think it's quite excellent too. It's certainly not worth 800 points in my book though. It should have been positioned for what Geometry Wars sold at - 400.

Got to agree, I downloaded the demo just because I could yesterday, with no real intention of getting into it - already got Pac-man and Ms Pac-man.

After playing a few times i just HAD to have the full version. It's such a different game, totally brilliant idea. Love the graphics, the sound, the new gameplay ideas.

It's like Pac-man Lumines X2000 or something. :D

after my initial go i went back and tried the other modes last night, the 2 10 min challenge modes are great. in one you have a shifting maze and very fast aggressive ghosts, the other is a little slower and you can see the dots, but the maze walls are hidden and only light up in the area surrounding pac.

i also seemed to notice that the AI of the ghosts is variable, if youare playing very aggressively and keep eating 4 with a pill then chain another 4 straight away then another 4 they really gang up and go for you.

also worth noting i find it plays really well on the analogue stick.

i know its horses for courses but this really is worth 800pts to me.

this is a 25y old game in the same way Jetpac was a 20y old game.

its really very nicely polished and moved on a lot. controls feel sharp, presentation is good.

Yeah, at 800 points it's a bit of a con. 400, and I'd snap it up.

I bought the full game last night and lost two hours without realising it. Very addictive, very colourful, very fun. I will most certainly get more than £6.80's worth of fun out of this!

I can see this becoming my favourite XBLA arcade-style title, behind Geometry Wars. A nice surprise.

When it was first announced i raised an eyebrow slightly. Saw it in action, both eyebrows raised. Played the demo, instant purchase! Trying to chain ghost chomps/pill packing is just awesomes.

Bought this today. It's great how they've managed to make Pacman fun again ... They've realised that, in this day and age, the original Pacman games are too repetitive to be a "progress" game, and require too much dedication to be a fun "score" game, so fail on both counts. The time-limit and increasing speed really bring it back to life.

Would have been good to have a few more modes, or maybe some of the old games (like my fave Pac-game, Super Pacman), but as-is, I'm a happy customer.

I bought it last night after trying the demo (didnt give it much thought till I tried it as it never crossed my mind to buy it) just couldnt get enough of it. Im a big original Pacman fan (I broke a pacman watch when they came out in early 80s as I used to beat it over and over) and my fav has been Ms Pacman but I thought they couldnt update much but this works really well. Im glad I added points for Prince Of Persia now (usual got points left over what can I burn it on hehe).

This game is bloody mega! I just got it, more people need to get this as the trial doesn't show enough. With this and PoP, bomberman next week, then Super Puzzle Fighter, my CC is taking a a bit of a dint. :(

This game is basically like crack. You just can't get enough and you know it's wrong staying up all night trying to finish it all off...and man those headaches the next day you get....jesus.....Yes, this game is very addictive and at times drives me insane....nearly!

All I need is the Score 400,000 points achievement and i'll have 200/200 but I just cant seem to do it...:(

Crown is the 20th (and last) item I believe, I gave this a good outing last week, still a few achievements to pick up mind, amazing how you once you lose one life the others seem follow very quickly (well in my case anyway).

I'm with you on that David. I can build up a ton of lives at the start very easily but as soon as I lose one I seem to panic and make silly mistakes and often lose them all within seconds! I've run out lives with 7 seconds to go once....very painful experience...lol

In case you didn't know, extra mode 2 is the easiest mode to get 400k. Took me a few goes but you'll nail it eventually if you've cracked all the other achievements.

This game really needs a high score thread - the game is digital crack!

I've hit the 350,000 mark twice now, the real points are in the items, forget the ghosts, just concentrate on clearing the pills quickly (sorry if teaching to suck eggs and all that).

I finally did it. 404690! I've been playing it night and day and i've finally done it. 200/200. Yes! ^_^ I've slapped myself and everything to achieve this. Personally, regarding the achievement topic at the moment. I think they are bloody bad for your health. lol. I'm so having a break from games now. Yeah right...hehe....

I found Extra Mode 3 was the easiest one to earn the 400K in. The "maps" are mostly small so you can really fly through all the fruits untill you get nothing but Crowns (worth 7650) appearing.

Spent a total of 75 minutes on Extra Mode 2 & 3 and twice got to 386,xxx.

Think Extra Mode 2 is the better choice for the 400k achievement, Extra Mode 3 starts off with some quick and easy points then slows down.

Anyway, given up on this one. For now.

Back to the 400k achievement, have been using Extra Mode 2 and just cannot get 400k in ten minutes, noticed I usually get

100k with about 6:40 left
200k with about 4:00 left
300k with about 1:05 left

anyone remember what sort of times/scores I should be hitting, seem about 30 seconds too slow at present and as my East London pal would say - it's doing my swede in.
