What is everyone's favourite theme for the 360? I've been using Lost Planet theme for ages now! Might be time for a change!

Do newer themes support the extra marketplace blade btw?

There is a site that lets you preview all of the themes. I can't get access to them because of the firewall here, but if you search for "preview 360 themes" on google you should get a few results.

I used the Family Guy theme for a while, and the 24 theme, but am now back with the default one. Not really any that have yelled out to me to purchase!

edit: try www.dashboardthemes.com (http://www.dashboardthemes.com)

Been using the Bejewelled theme for a good while now (chalk me up as another who saw Andrew Fee's pics and loving it).

Street fighter and castlevania are my two most used. Castlevania is nice but can feel a bit cluttered. The street fighter one is more easy on the eye.

I mostly use the crackdown minimulist theme and the built in glass theme.

I've been using the Fable 2 one for now, but my favourite is probably the halo trilogy.

Bejeweled 2 (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/marketplace/bejeweledlivearcadexbox360/themes.htm) is the best theme available, in my opinion, definitely worth the money.

Looks excellent with both the Glass and Carbon blades at the side. (uses the regular ones by default, for some reason)

I use a custom pic of murdoc from the gorillaz in mine. Glass trim, and bluey colour custom guide background

Can you custom skin the marketplace blade to something seperate than the others??

When I used to have an Xbox 360, I never downloaded any themes whatsoever but the day I popped round my friends cousin who has the exact same theme (Bejeweled 2) as Andrew Fee is showing on this page made me download it the next day and stuck with it ever since.

I didn't even download the free themes because I just knew I had the best one available and that's that.

I also have to give some praise towards the rather delightful Quake 4 theme; it may look simple but the cleanness of the symbols and light colours makes it a decent purchase.

You can see it here:

I always stick with the default, as I like the animation and subtle rippling effects. Sadly all the themes you can download seem a bit static and don't seem to sit well against the foreground.

I have dabbled with a Dead Rising, Viva Pinata and Gears one, but never longer than a day or two.

I do! :)

I was using the "Jessie" theme from Dead Rising for a bit and the guide blade is covered in 100`s of those green and yellow cultists, it looked like one of those bastard magic eye pictures so had to customize it.

The customization comes in really handy because there are some wicked themes out there but I don`t know what these guys were thinking when they design the guide blade, sometimes you can`t read anything on it.

I`m currently using the carbon theme.

Unless i'm being massively blind, that site doesn't have the Street Fighter or Bejewelled themes on it

At least, not under the Browse All link.

The Hexic theme's by far the best one ive downloaded:

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/marketplace/hexichd/themes.htm

The pictures in the link arnt accurate either, the blade trims are the carbon/black ones.

The dashboard themes website might be useful to see the odd themes or two but it makes me laugh to realise that the highest rated themes are actually the dull, dark and lifeless Halo 3, Gears of War and those themes with W0mAn!1!1 on the blades.

How sad.

I use the Jetpac Refuelled theme, before that it was PGR3, only two themes I liked to be honest (although the Japanese one my Gamertag Picture comes from isn't that bad).

I think it's kinda sad we have to pay for themes really, after all aren't they pretty much advertisements anyway? And why can't we make our own custom themes with separate images for each blade?

Anyway as for what I use, mainly the Darkness, I think it was a freebie during E3 last year. Very nice colors and it doesn't clutter the screen like lot's of other themes. I've also used the Adidas ones for a bit, those were free as well at some point.

I bought the bejeweled 2 theme after seeing all the love in here, it is very pretty. Its like the default theme but just a smidge more interesting

I've only ever bothered with the free ones, which are like you say, advertising (ie family guy and 24). wouldnt pay money for them - would rather stick the points towards a game. i pay for gamer pics though, but most are just 80pts.

Right, I've got bejeweled now with the plain grey blade style. A win!!

I use the Heroes one at the moment, not fantastic but still good. Usually have the default/glass one or the Viva Pinata one.

I've bought a few which look pretty good, mostly when I didn't have enough MSP to buy a game - Ace Combat 6, Lost Planet (Snow), Halo 3 TV Spot & SFII. I usually alternate between those, but right now I'm using a hi-res screenshot from Gradius II. Pixels FTW :)

is the fan appreciation them the one with the pastel coloured backgrounds and line art drawings?

I'm always amazed at how impractical a lot of the themes on the Marketplace are. Some of the artwork is fine in its own right, but as a background it makes the black text really hard to read. There needs to be an inbuilt way to test them, either by way of a preview or something like the ability to use them for free for 24 hours.

At the moment I'm using the Halo 3 TV spot theme (http://www.dashboardthemes.com/theme/Halo-3/1st-tv-spot) with the glass dashboard background and the default guide. Looks great and I'm in the mood for Halo at the moment. By the same criteria the Halo Trilogy theme (http://www.dashboardthemes.com/theme/Halo-3/halo-trilogy) is nice too.

Also chalk up another recommendation for the Bejewelled 2 theme. It's understated but looks really good, especially with the glass background.

I usually switch between the Street Fighter fan appreciation and the Viva Pinata themes. I also had a custom one which was a close up photo I took in Japan of loads of fluffy mario and yoshi dolls in one of those crane game machines :) Deleted it by accident though :(

What I'd really like is to be able to make proper custom themes, so you can have a different photo on each blade. Unless an update allowed us to do that already and I never noticed!

SF fan appreciation theme. bought it when it came out, and i've never changed it. it's easy on the eyes, although i still dunno why they made ryu's one pink

I'm too cheap to actually buy any themes so I tend to just load background images off a pen drive and customize the dash / guide settings to Carbon.

This is my current background pic, which makes a cheap and ****y alternative to the Bejewelled 2 theme:

My current background pic is a cup of plain tea taken in the local cafe of a house I stayed in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Bought loads of ceylon tea back with me but it just doesnt taste the same.

My background image for my 360 is of my bird, who just happens to have her hand out in front of her where I have now photoshopped a 360 pad into. It's like she wants let's me play games all the time now.
