What a fun little game this is!
Old school platformer, imagine a more in depth version of Lemmings with more to collect and if it were a platform game.
I really enjoyed the demo, was about to buy it (because it has co-op and was great fun) then saw the price...800 points.
Sorry, I may still get it but that just seems high to me. 1000 points = £8 odd. I dunno, I just thought it'd be cheaper.
It's not terrible price wise and as I say I still may buy it, but...meh.

Just had a quick go myself, it's a fun little game, but I can tell I'll get bored of it before finishing. I agree that 800 points does seem a little too much, maybe would have picked this up for 400, but it doesn't have enough to hold my interest, especially with galaga and pacman coming so soon after.

Hmm - I have 800 points ready to roll and quite fancied this - deffo sounds like a check the demo first one - Nice wee feature that :)
Is that online co-op ? That could swing it for me.

800 points = £6.80 (http://www.gangsterpanda.com/mspc.php)
I don't think that's a bad price for a good little game to the honest, but I guess it doesn't look too good next to the majority of games that cost 400 and Street Fighter II for the same price. I'm about to download the demo and give it a try so we'll see if it's worth it.

Not sure, it won't let you do an xbox live game without the full game...its definitely local mulitplayer co-op so I'd assume so...
The co-op swung it for me until I saw the price.
Do they really think games like this are worth nearly £8?

You tight fisted bastards :p.
Blame me dad, he used to say things like "Bloody hell, for the price of this Sonic game you could get 10 games for your Amstrad".
Seriously tho, I just don't think this is worth spending money on, the level I played was ok, but I can see it being very similar all the way thorugh.

Cloning Clyde is a big pile of meh. Don't care about it and i'll keep my 6 pounds thank you very much. I do enjoy these downloads. I'll download everything that is free on Marketplace. Means I don't have to take stabs in the dark regarding the perchases I make.
Cloning Clyde is a piece of shit, don't care, walk away. As Bill Hicks once said :)
People got to impress me if they want my cash.

I think the price point is slightly high (400 would be the sweet spot) but given this is a new title which means there actually was full development involved you have to give them credit where its due and overall I think you are probably getting value for money.
The game is good, but it might not be everyones tastes. It reminds me of lemmings meets three vikings or whatever that SNES game was called. Anyway its fun but I think the singleplayer levels arent complex enough and people will finish it rather quickly. There is co-op and multiplayer online though so there is some shelf life there.
Overall, good game and nice to see a genuinely new title on XBLA. I really enjoyed Geometry Wars and Marble Blast so I think I will be picking this up as well. On the NinjaBee site there is talk of additional content for it as well so it might be one of those games that will improve with time.

I don't care about the price, but I wasn't that impressed with the game. I found it clunky and borring - having to kill all those 'camera' things by hammering the attack button was slightly tedious...I'll give it another go tonight, wasn't in the best of moods yesterday :p
On the plus side the presentation is nice - the character is Clyde is well realised and the cloning idea is pretty sweet. Unfortunately I just found it really dull!
Nice to see original content on XBLArcade though.

Must admit I am starting to enjoy this more on the 3rd and 4th levels (When Clyde is spliced with Chickens, sheep and dynamite). Wasn't too impressed at first but it turns into quite a good platform/puzzler felt very "amiga puzzle game" to me. 800 points is only £7 and there's nothing new coming out during the summer and nothing coming up any time soon on the Live arcade i'm actually bothered about.
So I though why not? I spend more than this on going out for a dinner which eventually ends up in my toilet. Looks really nice for a 2d game, too, just could do with some music.
just could do with some music.
That was the first thing I noticed, the lack of music left it feeling a little dull. However after I played the 3rd and 4th levels I really started to enjoy it, I'd say it was definately worth the cost.
It's no more than a few drinks will cost you.

Multiplayer reminds me of Powerstone - Chaos and fun! Worth 800 points just for the Live aspect...

I'm a fan. The presentation and style is really nicely done (like Ninja Bee's Outpost Kaloki X)and Clyde is very likeable (even though you see his arse poking out the back of his gown constantly).
It's a puzzle game rather than a platformer. The later levels are all about using the clones to work the puzzles to get to the ken dolls. Once you complete the trial missions in the demo, the full game starts properly. Each stage has four levels, completing these moves onto the next set, but also opens up two harder levels.
There isn't really any challenge beyond figuring out the puzzles. If you die you just rematerialise nearby, which only has a detrimental effect if you're going for the par times on each map. But there are a lot of levels and it's compulsive to play. Each level only last a few minutes, so you can dip in and out of it easily.
I agree about the music, but custom soundtracks are your friend. I found listening to old reggae like Lee Perry went with the laid back and humourous tone well.

Clyde is very likeable (even though you see his arse poking out the back of his gown constantly). There is an apply underwear option - tighty whiteys are the only ones available in the demo version. I'm hoping more are unlockable in the full version.
P
(I got a bit of an Exit vibe from it too).

Can't say I was impressed by the demo. Very generic, and the frame rate...! 30fps on a side scrolling platformer with flat shaded graphics! Very, very shoddy.

Any hands-on impressions of the XBL Multiplayer?
I know the online co-op is the same as SP but you each control a clone but IGN's review (which has a decent score) basically mentions the multiplayer is on all new levels and that you compete to destroy each teams robots but doesnt really elaborate on the modes of play.

The Live multiplayer is great fun. I played a few games with 3 other people, two teams of two. We were each trying to both protect our 4 robots and destroy their 4 robots.... Which is easier said than done.
Actually trying to find the ememy robots required going through loads of water, so we had to capture a frog, take it to the DNA machine, and splice the frog with the Clyde you're controlling, giving you FrogClyde - who can jump and swim a whole lot better than standard Clyde - allowing you to get to the 1st machine, which, of course is being defended by opposing team-mates....
The maps I played varied in size, but generally were on the smaller side, allowing for, basically, chaos! Everybody was trying to work out what to do, and how to get to the enemy bots. Great fun. I was also crossed with a sheep (which you can also ride...) and was chopped up, blended drowned and general killed in unpleasant ways.... Stratigical elements also come into play when you notice that pressing "Y" lets you chance which Clyde you control....
Voice coms was perfect - and everybody was laughing their heads off at what they'd found...:D
Very reminicent of Powerstone and Kung-Fu Chaos....

Hmm ok... Thanks mate.
How many Vs. levels are there? Lots of choice? I think I might have to check this out.

Dunno how many - I played about 3 or 4 games and had a different map everytime... I just clicked on "Quickmatch".

I found the demo VERY easy and know I'd rinse the game in a few days, so £6.80 is more than I'd like to pay for a game, you'd pay less if you could rent it for 3 days.
It's a rather appealing game, I actually enjoyed the demo quite a bit but £6.80 could go toward a game that actually keeps me playing it for a while.
The concept of the gameplay still really does remind me of a lemmings-kind-of-game...

Regarding the live play though, I'm SO ****ing sick of lag just lately that I can't even be arsed trying it. I play most of the time during the day now, and I find it very hard to find a live game that isn't full of lag...they never quit, just wait for you to do it. Reputation or not, buggered if I'm playing a game that is jerking all over the place, where's the fun in that? Ultimately that's my problem in that my lifestyle has changed and I now play more during the day than the night.
The thing is, I'm really close to caving in, but I just know I'm gonna rinse it in a few days and that'll make it almost a waste of money.
Having said that, it's a minor complaint in that I can afford to buy it but am currently choosing not to (this may change)...the marketplace has gone from strength to strenght recently and with games like the one Kotatsu just posted (AND Alien Hominid ... live co-op oh yes!) it just goes to prove how much effort is going in to it.
I really like what I'm hearing about the live aspect but as I said, it's almost too much of a risk to buy it and find yet more laggy games during the day...(it seems to be mainly Korea which I find odd since I thought they had mega-fast connections out there?)
(Apologies if my posts are hard to read, I really am writing on no sleep here but I've tried napping and its too damn hot...we had an emergency last night and our 15 month old son was taken to hospital in an ambulance...so yeah sorry if my posts are conveluted and difficult to scan at times)

Well I caved in and bought it, told you I would!
I liked it before, but now I can actually SEE the live options, well maybe the price isn't so hard to swallow! I still think it's a little high, since I found the game VERY easy, it reminds me of a cross between lemmings and new super mario bros...it'll make me go back to every level to complete it in each way!
Looking forward to some co-op hopefully!
(I reserve the right to contradict myself all the time)

Trouble is, in 1 hour 30 mins, I already got 91/200 achievements and I'm very near getting another 2...
The multiplayer versus mode really reminds me of something but I can't think what!
The most pleasant suprise ever is the live mode! I will have finished single player in about 2-4 days but the live mode no way!
Not only can you do co-op (something that is SO under-used nowdays and I love it) but you can do co-op/versus with someone else ON your 360 on live...
IE player1/player2 + live mates (co-op or versus) other live people!
THAT is fantastic.
Is it just me that finds the game ridiculously easy though?
Oh, no lag but he left when I was raping him senseless in versus mode!
Wicked. :) I may add you for some online play, glad you've seen the light. ;)
I got stuck on an early mission, I thought I had to pull a lever, but I had to stand on the platform instead and press B...silly me!

I always liked the game but it just seemed like I'd finish it too quickly, but the live aspect is spot on actually!
I found I was beating the "Par-times" without trying on some levels.
I just love the chicken-clyde levels mind you.
I've slowly been going through them by collecting everything first such as the Kenn dolls and retrieving all the clones, then going back afterwards and running through the level as quick as I can. :D

Bought this last night. Seems cool so far, nothing to challenging as of yet but I've only played it for about an hour. Well worth the asking price thus far.

I think this is a top 5 360 XBLA game, and I for one welcome it.
Although I too recoiled in horror at the constant naked man ass on show.

This game reminded me of benefactor on amiga, loved that wee game.
Nice to see some more indie stuff coming out finally, more please.
MS should really get there arse in gear with it and ramp up some more get some more companies behind them and get them out, reckon that could happen more toward Wii and PS3 launches.

Well, completed it just now...few achievements to get still (mutant clyde?!?) and the under par one...Done :) 200/200 and 100% the game!
I found the demo VERY easy and know I'd rinse the game in a few days, Told ya...3 days and 100% but I'm looking forward to co-op with this.
Found this easier than new super mario bros (and that was really easy!) and some of the achievements are plain silly! DNA'int (Become mutant Clyde) is really pointless and when you do get that variant on Clyde its pointless because you have to 100% the game to get it, and being mutant clyde gives you all the powers of all the clones, therefore its useless because you already have to 100% the game to unlock the cheat in the menu, there is no other way of getting mutant clyde but there we go.
Main game done, multiplayer here we come!
